Brands Hatch GP BSB 2022

Brands Hatch GP BSB

Only three days after World Superbike the single make series re-joined the BSB championships for their first of two visits to Brands Hatch.

It was local rider David Shoubridge setting the pace in practice and qualifying.

The MotorcycleRaceParts team worked on gearing and set up with Tunstall having little experience around the Kent track on his V2 Ducati.

Taking second on the grid with Baker once again joining them in 3rd.

Race one saw Shoubridge pull a slight margin whilst Tunstall and Baker battled behind for second and third.

Baker got the edge but it was close all the way with Tunstall setting his best time of the weekend on the penultimate lap. Missing out by only 0.3 seconds at the flag.

The team made more changes for Sunday’s 12-lap encounter, which saw Tunstall get pushed back to 6th by the second corner!

He was back up to third by lap three but Shoubridge and Baker had already pulled a 3.8 second gap. Tunstall held the margin losing only 0.8 over the following five laps.

Before relenting his pace and bringing home another podium finish in 3rd place.

“I missed the boat in Race two. Whilst I’m confident I had the pace to race with them they are both riding well and getting passed is another issue.

It’s been another good weekend for us.

We’ve learned more about the bike and how it reacts to changes. It’s easy to forget its only our 4th race with this bike. Two more podiums and the championship lead is a bonus isn’t a bad way to get to the half way mark in the season!”

Round five takes place in just under five weeks time. As the British Superbike Championships visit the spectacular Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire. Over the August Bank Holiday weekend of 27th-29th August.
