Preparation
Legendary crew chief Jeremy Burgess who prepared the world championship winning bikes for Valentino Rossi, Mick Doohan and Freddie Spencer among others once pronounced the benefit of the “Seven P’s” – being:
“ Proper Planning & Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance” and whilst the straight talking Aussie almost certainly didn’t coin the phrase originally, it is clear that the 157 MotoGP wins he presided over didn’t happen by accident.

To give you the best probability of a successful ride, whether that’s a Sunday blast with friends, your first track day of the year, or pre season testing ahead of your 2017 race season, an important step would to be to make sure you [and your bike] are well prepared!...

This is coming up to the busiest time of year for part suppliers and it’s not unusual for suppliers and manufacturers to run out of stock (We know of two very large brands who are already struggling to cope with demand!).

Stay ahead of the pack and try to buy and order parts Preperation_before you need to use/load your bike.
Are your chain and sprockets in good shape or worn?

Is there plenty of life left in your brake pads?

When was the last time you changed your oil filter, or flushed new brake fluid through the system?..

For racers especially you know you’re going to get through oil, filters, brake pads, grips throughout the season so having at least one set spare isn’t going to cost you anymore in the long run but being caught out at a track day/test or race event isn’t only an inconvenience running around trying to find help - it could stop your day – which IS expensive.
