The number of new motorcycles sold in the UK in 2014 was up by 10% according to year-end figures.
Every month throughout the year showed an increase which was the highest for the last five years.
101,277 New motorcycles, scooters and mopeds were sold and registered last year with “naked bikes” being particularly popular up 32%, Touring bikes also increase by 13%. Larger motorcycles [650cc+] sold well too with an increase of 18%.
The number of bikes being used on the road was also the highest of the last five years increasing to 1,326,500 – nearly double the number on the road in 1994.
